Please see advice, guidance and conditions below for the installation of our PVC banners.
Fasten firmly onto a flat surface.
If you install your banner where the wind can catch it, the banner may rip.
How to Hang a Banner to a Wall or Wooden Panel Fence.
Attaching a printed banner to a wall is the most secure way of displaying a banner as the wall will protect the banner from the wind.
The best way of attaching the banner is to screw the banner to the wall using screws and washers. What will you need?
Steel washers (ideally 25mm diameter with 5mm hole – 1 per eyelet) Wall plugs and screws (for brick wall) Self-tapping screws (wooden fence) Drill for drilling holes into the wall.
Hold the banner up to the wall or fence and mark the positions to drill the holes through each of the eyelets.
Brick Wall – Drill the correct size hole for the wall plugs you are using. Screw the banner to the wall or fence with a screw and washer through each eyelet.
If you are screwing to a wooden fence, use self-tapping wood screws.
Ensure the washer being used is large enough to cover the eyelet.
Using Elastic Cords to fix the banner.
You can also use elastic cords to stretch the banner flush against a fence. Kine the banner up and begin at one corner, loosely attaching an elastic cord. Go to the other end and do the same. Eventually, you can tighten the elastic cords until the banner is taut but not overly stretched.
Precautions when attaching PVC banners.
It is very important to ensure your PVC Banners are correctly fitted to ensure they don’t come loose, flap about or even tear in strong winds. It is important that you secure your banner with all of the eyelets. We calculate the number of eyelets based on the size of your banner. If some eyelets are not secured then additional stress is put upon the eyelets which you have secured and potentially could cause the banner to rip.
Using Cable Ties to secure your banner.
If your banner is being mounted against a fence then zip ties are another way to secure your banner but be careful the wind cannot make the banner into a SAIL!
If you intend to ‘string up’ your banner we recommend elastic rope, again it is important to secure all of the eyelets, you can either cut the rope into short pieces and tie it into place or you can weave in and out the eyelets and pull the rope tight. We do recommend having the additional corner strength when using this method of mounting.
G1 Printing cannot accept responsibility for banner wear and tear due to weather conditions. We simply provide a quality printed product. Many of our banners are still mounted outside after 7 or 8 years!
This is because they were installed correctly.
